Personal Narrative
I have seen purpose and meaning of my life evolving over the five past years. Five years ago I was just a senior in high school, I had no idea what I would be doing five years from then. I knew I wanted to go to college but I did not know what I wanted to take up. Here I am five years later taking online classes going for my BA in Human Resources/Management. In high school I was not motivated enough because I had not developed my whole personality. I had not grown up and realized that I needed to do something with my life.

One of the events that have led to this evolution of mine is when I met my boyfriend. I met Mike over two years ago and have been with him ever since. Last year he thought it would be a good idea for him to go back to school but with his job, being in the oilfield, he would not have been able to go to college unless he took online classes. He motivated and encouraged me to go back to school and finish. Another event that helped with my evolution, is that I had a goal of going back to school. I am working towards that goal and I believe I can achieve this goal by have a conscientiousness trait, and I believe that I am very self-discipline. With me meeting my boyfriend, who I love dearly, I believe I have developed from this event. I have learned about love needs and building an intimate relationship (McAdams, 2006).

I think the theory that might help explain this evolution is the Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. First it starts with self-actualization needs which are the fulfillments of potentials. Another part of that theory is the esteem needs, this is the ability to have achievements. Having loving needs and belongingness are few theories that help explain this evolution. Being able to make friends with my teachers and classmates, also have helped me keep motivated to graduate college.
