This perception has definitely given me an opportunity to really know myself and be aware of the things that I do in my everyday life. There are many statements that stood out to me but some of the questions related to honesty stood out the most. I have always considered myself to be an honest individual but there were times when I found myself being dishonest because my honesty would hinder the possibility of achieving a desired result. Also, it has been brought to my attention that I can be too trustworthy sometimes and people have taken my kindness as a weakness. Another perception of myself that I was able to discover through this exercise is answering questions 14 and 16 about power and criticism. I strongly believe that power should be shared and it’s better for several people to have power than for one person to have it all. I like working in group and I always seek other’s approval of my decisions. However, I am not always receptive to bad criticism, as it tends to negatively affect my ability to be effective. I also realize that whenever a conflict arises, I’ll try my very best to avoid it or be part of it. However, when I am involved in a conflict, I would never give up power over any situation which in a way contradicts my Being an HR student and working close with HR personnel at my company, I know being empathetic about others’ views and feelings is very critical but I must admit that I am not always a good judge of character.
