Executive Summary
Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (PERODUA) has been establishes on 1993 and started to operate on 1994. Perodua introduced the very first car made by the company, Perodua Kancil, on August 1994. Perodua has launched a lot of product under their organizations, until November 2009, they introduced Perodua Alza. Since their first launching in 1994 until 2009, Perodua has launched nine vehicles under their company. At the end of May 2011, they have sell more than 1.9 million units of vehicles from various types of their products. To increase their performance, Perodua send their staff to a training to increase their knowledge in handling and servicing the vehicles. This shows that Perodua wants a continuous learning process in their staffs to satisfy their customer’s needs.

1.0 Introduction
The purpose of this research is to determine the methods or types of learning approaches that Perodua Sdn. Bhd use to enhance their employees’ performance. Perodua use several methods of learning approaches for junior technical entry level technical employees, school leavers (SPM), and current employees to upsurge their skills.

In this research, we also try to ascertain the external factors that influence the continuous learning of the Perodua organization. We discovered several types of factors that influence the continuous learning in this organization.

We have also distinguished recommendation and suggestion for effective learning as students to obtain better results.

2.0 Organization background
Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (PERODUA) was established in 1993, is a joint venture company between Malaysian and Japanese partners. The shareholders of Perodua are UMW Corporation Sdn Bhd, MBM Resources Berhad, Daihatsu Motor Co. Ltd, PNB Equity Resource Corporation Sdn Berhad, Daihatsu (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Mitsui & Co. Ltd, and Mitsui & Co, (Asia Pacific) Pte Ltd. For the Perodua’s shareholders percentage, refer to appendix 1. The company started operations in 1994 and the ever so popular Perodua Kancil was introduced to the Malaysian market in August the same year. To date, the following vehicles have rolled out of the Perodua plant: The Perodua Rusa - March 1996, The Perodua Kembara - August 1998, The Perodua Kenari - June 2000, The Perodua Kelisa - August 2001, The Perodua Myvi - May 2005, The Perodua Viva - May 2007, The Perodua Nautica 4WD - May 2008, and The Perodua Alza – November 2009. As at end of May 2011, Perodua has sold some 1.9 million units of vehicles of various models.

Perodua Sdn Bhd is divided to four groups which are Perodua Auto Corporation Sdn Bhd (PCSB) that was established in the final quarter of 2001. Two other joint venture partners of PCSB are Daihatsu Motor Co. Ltd. and Mitsui & Co. Ltd both of Japan. The manufacturing operations of the Perodua Group are being managed by PCSB. Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd (PSSB) is responsible for the sales, marketing, and distribution of all Perodua vehicles as well as after sales service and spare parts operations. Perodua Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (PMSB) is the company responsible for the manufacturing of Perodua vehicles. Lastly, Perodua Engine Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (PEMSB) undertakes the assembly of the vehicle engines and also manufacturing of selected engine component parts.

3.0 Learning Approaches
4.1 Perodua Technical Education System (PTES)
For junior technical entry level technical employees, they provide the Perodua Technical Education System (PTES) that is designed to fulfill their needs in terms of competent employees with basic automotive knowledge. This program is tied in with the national MLVK (Majlis Latihan Vokasional Kebangsaan – National Vocational Training Council) qualification, whereby PTES is one of the approved training centres.
