\One of the challenges Percy faced was Medusa. She was a monster with venomous snakes in replace of her hair. If you looked her in the eye you were turned to stone. In the packet, the hero Perseus beheaded her, and he later used the head as a weapon. It was the same in the movie. Percy was fighting with Medusa and used his sword to cut off her head. Later when they were fighting with the monster they used Medusa’s head to turn the monster to stone. The way Perseus beheaded Medusa was similar in both the movie and packet. In the packet, he was said to have had used a mirrored shield from Athena to slay Medusa by looking at her through it. In the movie, he used the back of his iPod, which was also mirrored. After Medusa died however, Pegasus and Chrysaor did not spring from her body as the packet explained happened.

The story of the Lernean Hydra was only slightly similar to the event that took place in the movie. The only similarity between them was that every time Percy cut of one head, it grew back two heads. It said in the packet that the hydra attacked with poisonous venom, but in the movie, the monster attacked by breathing fire at them. The way Percy killed the beast in the movie was by using Medusa’s head to turn it to stone. But the packet says he bashed the heads while his friend blew fire on the neck to prevent from more heads growing back. Then he buried the one immortal head by the side of a nearby road.

The story of Medusa was very similar to the one in the movie. It was almost exactly the same. However, the Lernean Hydra story was not very similar at all. As you can see, the movie and packet were
