What I want to do when I grow up

Interest

When I grow up I would like to be a general pediatrician. I think this would be agood match for my character traits. I am very social and I like working with people so that is a good match with this job. I am also investigative and I like to solve problems which would be necessary in this job. I think the combination of those two character traits makes for a perfect match for this job. I also really enjoy kids so that was one of the reasons I was drawn to this job. I would really like to do this for a living.
Duties
As a pediatrician one of the things I would have to do is give checkups to kids do make sure they are developing the way they should be and that everything is normal. I would also have to monitor kid’s chronic diseases such as juvenile diabetes, and cystic fibrosis. I would recommend treatment and order tests to kids. And I would have to stay calm and help calm the children and their worried parents.

Education
To become a pediatrician you have to have a lot of training. First you need to go to college and get your bachelors degree. Then you need to go to medical school for four years. In the third an fourth year you choose the special field you want to work in. After that you go into residency where you work in a hospital or a place like that for three years.
Salary
In the US Pediatricians earn an average salary of $168,650. In Nebraska Pediatricians get the most pay at $217,270. The type of employer also plays a part of how much your salary is. When you are starting out your salary is lower than it increases. An entry level 4salary for a Pediatrician is $135,000 I jumps considerably when you have been working for 5 years and gradually increases from there.
Conclusion
I think being a pediatrician would be a very fun and rewarding job. I would get to do something I really enjoy while helping a lot of children. I hope I get to become a pediatrician when I’m older. I
