PATIENCE The dislike I chose to write about is my lack of patience. This dislike is one thing I don't like about myself, which is why I chose to write my paper about this dislike.

The field of Psychology that I believe has the best insight on my problem with patience is Evolutionary Psychology. This field of Psychology investigates the role of evolution in human behavior. I believe I get my dislike for not being patient about certain things from my father's side of the family. The men on that side of the family have very little patience for things such as waiting and trying to figure things out they don't understand. I've noticed these behaviors in my three boys as well. This is why I think evolution does play a factor in human behavior.

I believe the human brain is programmed to think a certain way from birth. Biological and genetic makeup make me think a certain way. For example, I get impatient about having to wait on something or when I don't understand how to do something I think I should know how to do. Biological bases of behavior like sensation and perception play a role in my dislike also. For example, when I have to wait on something, my first instinct is to just walk away. I do this because the sensation I get is aggravation. When I don't understand something I get the same sensation. I get the urge to just walk away and give up.
