INTRODUCTION
With more and more families having both parents leave the home to work now days a lot of other family duties are being neglected. One being able to closely monitor how our children are doing in school. For one reason or the other parents are not involved in their children’s education. Some children do okay while others fall badly through the cracks and end up barely or not succeeding at all.
In this proposal we are going to not only explore how to incorporate parent involvement in an elementary school where API scores are falling below school district and state standards.   We will also explore how many families on the campus are interested in parent involvement and feel that it will assist their children in becoming more successful in school and raising the overall schools API scores.
When parents are involved in their children’s education not only are they helping them to better succeed in school but they are preparing them for our challenging world. When parent’s are continuously watching and helping to shape our children through being involved in their lives it could possibly be the response that the next generation will need to thrive, in a society where the rules continue to change (Estroff 2008). Some of this involvement start before we send our children to school and are what gives them the tools to do well in school.  
LITERATURE REVIEW
In researching literature for this proposal literature of studies done on parent involvement as well as literature which supported why parent involvement is important was looked at
