1. INTRODUCTION

As yet another semester draws to an end, it is time for the seniors, or second year students, to bid adieu to the Centre for Foundation Studies, International Islamic University Malaysia (CFS IIUM). Another generation of MEDCY members shall leave to pursue even higher education and hopefully reach even greater success at the IIUM main campus in Kuantan, Pahang.

True to tradition, it is with great pleasure that we organise this dinner as a token of respect and appreciation for our elders and not to forget the lecturers, for all that they have contributed to this society. Moreover, this is a chance for all to say their goodbyes, get together, and recall the good times that they had whilst studying here at CFS IIUM. At the same time, this event hopes to inspire the first year students to continue the legacy and meet the standards that have been set by their predecessors. It can also help to strengthen the bond amongst the MEDCY committee members, simultaneously creating a stronger ummah as a whole.

2. PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

MEDCY’s AGD ‘10 is of great significance as it serves to fulfil the vision of CFS IIUM.

It is common knowledge that Allah stresses the importance of a strong ummah amongst its followers in Islam. In order to ensure the implementation of this principle the MEDCY’s AGD ‘10 does not deviate from its original aim which is the vision CFS IIUM, its goals and objectives have been narrowed into two specific objectives:

Objective 1 - To create and conjure a strong and healthy relationship amongst

There were two presidents in office during this era. William Howard Taft, the 27th president, was in office from 1909 to 1913.During Taft's term everyone compared him to Roosevelt, the previous president, and would always criticize his ways. People always talked smack about how he supported big business, although no one ever mentioned how he was the first president to protect federal lands on oil had been found. Also how he protected coal infested lands. Some people may say that he was a bad president because he kept the government from enforcing the 15th Amendment, which gives black people the right to vote.…

The history of the debate for physician-assisted suicide has been long, even tracing back to the Greek and Roman times.1,2 The debate originally was centered around the Hippocratic oath and the condemnation of the practice. With the upsurge of Christianity, many physicians continued to condemn the practice. Within the last two centuries the public has spurned many discussions about Physician-assisted suicide and Euthanasia from many different historic perpectives1. Although this debate has been lengthy and many of the issues discussed over the centuries are repetitive, new ideas and concerns do emerge with the current debate.…

In July 12, 2008 publication of the New York Times, it was reported that the President of Sri Lanka was killed in a suicide attack. The religion of the suicide bomber was never reported. The very same newspaper (on November 5, 2009), reported that how a Muslim attacker attacked the US Base and killed US army soldiers. This discrimination against the Muslims and Islam is nothing but the fruit of Western Media’s propaganda against the Muslims and Islam. In Western countries, Islam is often looked upon as an "extremist", "terrorist", or "fundamental" religion. In many cases, the media’s reports about Islam are incorrect due to ignorance. This is one of the reasons why the West often hates Islam. In contrast to what many Westerners think of Islam, Islam is a peaceful religion, which does not promote any forms of uncalled for fighting or "terrorist" actions.…
