Ideology and Typology
According to The Advocates Quiz, my personal issues scored 70%. My economics issues score was 40%. The political group that I fell into was the Centrist group. Although, looking at the graph they showed, I was pretty close to (almost border lining) the left, or liberal, side of the chart. The results then went on to describe centrist’s tendencies and whatnot. I was slightly confused about what the percentages were saying, but overall, I definitely agree with these results. One line from the results that really related to me was, “Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind,” (theadvocates.org/quiz). I like to think that I often have an open mind, and am willing to look at a situation from another point of view. The results also touched on using practical solutions to solve problems, and that also rings true with me. As far as this website goes, I think these are accurate measures of my political philosophy.
The quiz I took on People-Press.org pegged me as a, “solid liberal”, which apparently 14% of the public is. After reading what the results stated that liberals believe, I feel that I do not belong in this group. At least not as hardcore as these results made it sound. There were definitely a few statements in particular that I disagreed with. For example, “strongly pro-government…very supportive of regulation,” (people-press.org/typology/quiz). Under certain circumstances, I could see the need for regulation, government interference, and so on. However, that is not to say that I am “very supportive” of such things.
