Pahang is one of the state in Malaysia and it is located in the peninsula Malaysia. It is the largest state in Peninsula Malaysia but third in Malaysia below Sarawak and Sabah. Pahang is located at the east together with Terengganu and Kelantan. The state capital of Pahang is Kuantan and its royal town is Pekan, just 50 kilometres away from Kuantan. Pahang has 11 district altogether which are Kuantan, Kuala Lipis, Temerloh, Cameron Highlands, Maran, Pekan, Rompin, Jerantut, Raub, Bentong and Bera. The Pahang River also among the longest river in Malaysia. In every state in Malaysia, they have their own style of governing their state. The historical of Pahang was evidence for nomadic tribes living in the Pahang area go back to the Mesolithic Era. In modern times, the gold and tin deposits of the Tembeling River was attracted the marine traders of the Srivijaya empire in the 8th and 9th centuries, and Pahang covered most of the southern half of the Malay Peninsula. After the Srivijaya empire had collapsed, about the 1000, Pahang was captured first by Majapahit, Siam, and then Sultanate of Malacca. Pahang was fought among by the dutch, the portugese, aceh, and johor for most of the 16th century. During that time, the population was mostly enslaved, the rulers were murdered and the economy have ruined. After the Aceh had fallen in the mid-17th century, Pahang came under the rule of Johor. But, Sultans of Pahang, came down from the Malacca and the Bendahara of Johor royal dynasties, have became the ruler of the state from 1470, and have recovered a great standard of autonomy. From 1858 to the 1863, Pahang was invloved in a civil war between two sons of the administration Bendahara. The war was ended when Wan Ahmad was proclaimed the new sultan on 1887 but his role from that work onward was largely ceremonial, as the British had forced him to sign a treaty that bringing the country under the control of a British Resident. In 1896, Pahang had joined Perak, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan in the Federated Malay States. This had been evolved into the Federation of Malaya on 1948 and into Federation of Malaysia on 1963. The vision of Pahang State Government is ‘To Be Developed, Prosperous Peace And Competitive by 2020’ while its mission is ‘For socio-economic empowerment through the development of competent human capital and integrity; expand infrastructure development; adding value and maximizing the productive use of technology and private investment’. These are very important for the government because it need to achieve that goal with the support from all the citizen of Pahang.
