Interview
Me: Could you tell me a bit about yourself?
Older Lady: Well my name is Sophie and I’m 59, I have a daughter named Ella. She unfortunately passed away. She had a terrible accident. Me: what are your interests?
Old Lady: I enjoy classical music and I like to socialise with people, I used to be a dancer and an actress. I’m an artist. Me: have you changed your interests by the time?
Old Lady: Yes, they have actually changed a lot. When I was younger I did a lot of dancing, accident happened- I fell off the and seriously damaged my knee and wrist. Me: do those injuries affect your everyday life right now?

Old Lady: yes, it does. At the moment I find it hard to walk, so I can’t do the activities I loved doing. Also the shoulder sometimes hurts a lot so if my grandchildren come around I can’t spend quality time with them. Me: your loss of your daughter was really bad, has it affected your life? If it has, then how has it affected your life? Old Lady: loss of Ella had a big change on my life. Ella was my life; I would spend every moment I could with her. We always found something to talk about; Ella and I were like best friends, mother and daughter love. When Ella passed away it was as if I had died. I lost appetite and I was replaying memories over and over again. I shut off from the rest of the world and I suffered in silence. If it wasn’t for my husband I would have died from loneliness and depression. Me: at the moment you live with your husband at your old house, is it hard for you to cope with everything around the house? Old Lady: as I said before the accident that happened now I find it hard to do things. I always done everything by myself and I never needed anyone’s help but now I need my husband to do things for me. Like she does shopping for me and that makes me feel terrible. Me: are you thinking about plans for your future?

Old Lady: hopefully I am going to get an operation on my knee. I will need a lot of help from my husband....
