"In a dark time the eye begins to see"~Rothko

In other words this quote means in hard times you began to see circumstances more clearly.I agree as it is time in life as in literature because this quote relates to this book. The novels Outsiders written by S.E Hinton and Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry written by Mildred D. Taylor. The book Outsiders written by S.E Hinton, goes with this quote because in the began of the book Outsiders they where all trouble makers towards the ending of the book they all started to realize what they have. The mood for Outsiders is that it is a sad book because Johnny's home life wasn't all so good. No one ever seemed to care about Dally. The Curtis boys parents both died. The them of this whole book is that your life isn't so great and you can over come them and change. The book of Roll of Thunder hear My Cry by Mildres D.Taylor this book relates to this quote because Cassie sees her situations more clearly. Shes starts to see that she is going to be treated differently because she is a black girl. The characterization of Cassie is she is a black girl, that doesn't understand why she gets treated diffrenly. The setting of this bool takes places in the south and it is during the segregation In other words this quote means in hard times you began to see circumstances more clearly. I agree to the book outsiders because the books we read and how much better of a story they can tell.
