In ‘’Can you Hear Me Now ?,’’ I agree with Sherry Turkle’s argument that we are becoming alienated from our own experience and anxious about watching a version of our lives scrolling along faster than they can handle. This is because we are so obsessed and relied on technology, that we cannot do without it. I disagree to the point that he states ‘’this thrilling new networks is doing more harm than good’’, because the world requires it, with technology we are always updated and becoming fluent in it and makes our mind open in a way. We live in techno-enthusiastic world that we are always connected and mostly our physical presence in no longer needed, it thereby save us time and money, because we are no longer traveling that long distance to meet client and so on.
Take for instance when Tuckle travel to Japan for a conference , most of their conferences and some work place is based on robotic technology, this would improve productivity and a better quality life. Because with robots, it can be configured and control in a way that it will perform its routine to your taste and monitoring will be easy because its whole process is recorded. With human being its different we needs to be monitored at times because that’s the human nature. For a while we do our job efficiently but at times we get bored with the job and say let it go to hell. But again the whole idea of robots has a negative impact, it makes human being redundant and therefore leads to downsizing which obviously increase the level of unemployment which again has its effect.
With her argument that kids get cell phones from their parents to call and answer to them when in need,I agree to this point that they do not have the experience of being alone and having to count on themselves, because they know that there is always someone to guide them. We live in a strange environment, we have to train our kids on how to control and manage situations. We always have to have contingency, what if they call and... [continues]
