Otzi is the oldest natural ice mummy: 5,300 years old. The mummified, frozen body of otzi was discovered in 1991 by accident by two German tourists and the otztal region between Austria and Italy where it was discovered was called after it. At death he was between 40 and 50 years old and suffered from a number of medical conditions. The Iceman stood about 158 cm tall, and weighed about 61 kg
Otzi be killed because he might have stolen the copper axe or something expensive to them. There was no sing s of animal attacks and that obviously means that otzi was murdered by villager because he might have done something that made the villages anger. He might have killed someone because on one of his arrows there were four different types of blood. So that proves it that otzi was killed because he killed four other people.
In 2001 X-rays and a CT scan revealed that Ötzi had an arrowhead lodged in his left shoulder when he died, and a matching small tear on his coat. The discovery of the arrowhead prompted researchers to imagine Ötzi died of blood loss from the wound, which would probably have been fatal even if modern medical technique had been available. Further research found that the arrow's shaft had been removed before death, and close examination of the body found bruise and cuts to the hands, wrists and chest. One of the cuts was to the base of his thumb that reached down to the bone but had no time to heal before his death.
Otzi carried with him everything he needed to kindle a campfire and fashion weapons. His equipment allowed him to remain away from his home for long periods. In his belt pouch he carried tinder for starting fires as well as flint blades and drills. A touch up tool served to reshape the blades.
