From the two stories of Othello’s and Romeo and Juliet. In Romeo and Juliet, as we’ve seen in Othello, a woman willingly goes against the social norms and marries someone of a different standard. In Othello, the woman married a man of a different race. But in Romeo and Juliet, Juliet simply marries different. Interestingly enough, it is Romeo and Juliet that is seen as the love story, not Othello, and certainly not Titus. What makes Romeo and Juliet different? Is it that their differences are not so great as to end their love? Or is it that they do not truly know each other enough yet to say that they do not love each other? Othello and Desdemona come together, despite their racial and cultural differences, and stand up against society. Romeo and Juliet are about young love and how it faces and overcomes difficulties while Othello is about the way a love is destroyed by an outsider. When I think about Romeo and Juliet and Othello, I think of love, violence and sacrifice......
