Adobe Systems Incorporated (ASI) is an American global prominent software provider. The company was founded in December 1982 and went public in1986. The company has its headquarters in San Jose, California, United States of America (USA). The company licenses its technology to hardware manufacturers, software developers and service providers. Adobe has operations in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Asia which makes it geographically diversified revenue base company. In FY2009, 46.9% of the company’s revenues came of its software and related solutions in the Americas, 31.5% from Europe Middle East Africa, and 21.5% from Asia Pacific (Thompson, 2009).
The revenue result shows diversity in the company’s geographical revenue spread. The diversification of the revenue reduces its risk associated with adverse economic, political instability in the markets, and enhances its financial position. As a technology company Adobe operates in a rapid changing industry. Throughout Adobe’s history, the company had survived shifts in the industry from print to web publishing, electronic documents, and interactive experiences (Thompson, 2009).
