Organizational Analyis Paper

The CDC was founded during the World War II as the Office of National Defense Malaria Control Activities. Named this because of an outbreak of Malaria carried by infected mosquitoes, the CDC set out to control and eliminate the disease that was causing many deaths and sickness. Then in 1946 adopted by the U.S Public Health Services it once again changed the name to Communicable Disease Center. The headquarters is now in Druid Hills, Georgia. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is a Federal nonprofit organization under the Department of Health and Human Services.   The CDC works to watch over the public health and safety by providing information to ensure good health decisions, and it also wants to encourage health through parnertership with states of different health departments and other organizations. The CDC focus   nationally on developing and applying disease prevention and control (especially infectious diseases) such as,   environmental health, occupational safety and health, health promotion, prevention, and education.   CDC also offer grants to help other health organizations each year bring safety and prevention to the general public. As a government   run department , the Center for Diseases Control and Prevention a 85% of its annual budget   through these grants to accomplish its ultimate goal of disease control, safety for the public, and good   health quality for all. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is one of the 13 major operating mechanism of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. The agency has helped discover AIDS, Legionnaires Disease, Ebola fever and Lassa fever.
The CDC tries to promote health through strong partnership.
