1.1 Background of the topic
The social network is the type of community between peer to peer occurring through the Social Networking Sites (Curtis, 2011). The core idea of social network is to providing an opportunity to exchange the knowledge and information between distance end user. New Era of the communication start on the internet which tons of information available for other to take the advantage. Social Network Sites is the middle for the member to interact with each other. Newsday, the most popular Social Network Sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter provide ‘Self-expression’ services to the members. People who familiar with technology and Internet mostly familiar with Social Network Sites too. There is an avatar to represent each member but user must input personal information into that avatar to identify them with avatar. Not only personal information of member that can be detected, the information while interaction is occurring also can be detected by specific software name ‘Web crawler’ which state by Ying Ding, Elin K. That is where the personal information of the member flows on the internet. The privacy law in Thailand might not strict like to most developed countries such as US or EU. There are many of research about the privacy on the social network that conducted in country that has different privacy law comparing to Thailand. The awareness of privacy has been changed by the change of technology or globalization. Moreover, the social network became more popular nowadays and there are many users that need the security of their personal information. The crawl discovered 1,768,197 users and 6,325,306 social links (Isdal, 2012). Most of the Social Network Sites provided an option to allow user to customize their setting to match with their needs.

Bangkok, Thailand was chosen because it is the capital city of Thailand that easily to collect data of Social Network user and Thailand has different privacy concern compared to the developed country that has broad of research. The objective of this research is to increase awareness of privacy of Social Network user to protect their personal information and guide people to use the privacy function on the Social Network provider.

Social media are Internet sites where people interact freely, sharing and discussing information about each other and their lives, using a multimedia mix of personal words, pictures, videos and audio (Curtis, 2012). The type of Social media is depending on the purpose of Social Network Sites or type of users. The Social Network Sites including both of individual and groups of user are based on the same pattern.
