Oliver Cromwell
Oliver Cromwell-Hero or Villain

Oliver Cromwell was born on 25th April 1599 in Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire. Many historians are still battling for the fact that Cromwell is a hero but some are fighting that he is a villain. Cromwell himself said, “Without me England would have drowned in blood” We don’t know yet. But there are a lot of facts that Cromwell is a hero and villain.
In my humble opinion I think that Oliver Cromwell is a hero because he created a new model army and defeated King Charles the 1st. When Oliver Cromwell defeated King Charles he freed England from tyrannical rule. A typical Parliamentarian soldier quoted “I am proud to serve him and I have never seen his genius so sharp.” But after the Civil War Oliver Cromwell was strutting his head around England, nose high up in the air. A typical royalist lady said, “Oliver Cromwell is not fit to lick the King’s boot straps. Oliver Cromwell has a space reserved in hell. The king died because no-one dared to stand up to Mr.Tyrant Oliver Cromwell ”. So Cromwell is not high, enough in rank, to kill him or than lick his boots strap.
In my opinion I think that Oliver Cromwell is a hero because he created the New Model Army which was one of the best armies that the world has seen-well fed, paid and were motivated. The typical Parliamentarian soldier said, “You need pros. You need ability not nobility. Cromwell alone understands that. The king died not because he started the Civil War but because he betrayed the Parliament’s trust” Nevertheless using this army Oliver killed 7000 Irish Catholics, captured Drogheda, besieged Wexford. “His body was wrapped tightly wrapped and his coffin was lined with lead. But his stench still broke out and his name and memory will stink even more” This is quote from James Heath. A Gaelic woman said “ Cromwell forced us from our homes and that he nailed a baby”
Some historians might agree that Oliver Cromwell is hero because let Jews to live in England. This is the first
