Old Major's Speech Started the Rebellion of Animal

Old Major's speech started the rebellion of animal farm off with great hatred towrads humans, and anything associated with them. One of the main points bringing hatred to Mr. Jones's can be found on page 30 "Is it not crystal clear, then, comrades, that all the evil of this life of our springs from the tyranny of human beings? Only get rid of Man, and the produce of our labour would be our own.". This quote brought great hatred to Mr. Jones's because it brought up the tyranny he put the animals through, as well as the fact that Mr. Jones's takes the fruits of their labor.
Old Majors's main in this was to make it so the other animals were all to take the side of eachother, and turn against man. At another point in the story is found on page 28 and 29, it states "Because nearly the whole of the produce of our labour is stolen from us by human beings. there, comrades, is the answer to all our problems. Itis summed up ina single word-Man. Man is the only real enemy we ahve. Remove Man from the scene, and the root cause of hunger and overwork is abolished for ever.". This gives us another sign of the weakness of Man. Be seeing that Man is the ones keeping them at bay, and taking everything they have worked for in their lives, it brings great hatred to the farm. So by the end of the speech, all of man is hated by all the animals.

Napolean's outlook, and response to everything that happened, could be blamed on the fact that he had little, to nothing to do with the rebellion at the beginning. This is shown on page 27 the quote reads "The two horses had lain down when a brood of ducklings, which had lost their mother, filed into the barn, cheeping feebly and wandering from side to side to find some place where they would not be trodden on. Clover made a sort of wall round them with her great foreleg, and the ducklings nestled down inside it nd promptly fell asleep. At the last moment
Mollie, the foolish, prettty white mare who drew Mr.
Jones's trap, came mincing daintily in, chewing at a lump of sugar. She took a place near the front and began flirting her white mane, hoping to draw attention to the red ribbons it was plaited with. Last of all came the cat, who looked around as usual, for the warmest place, and finally squeezed herself in between Boxer and Clover; there she purred contentedly throughout Major's speech without listening to a word of what he was saying." Now, no where within that entire quote, was it ever mentioned that Napolean had shown up to this great speech. This has a hidden meaning possibly about why it is that
Napolean can rewrite history, because he never knew what it was in the first place. Napolean starts to show how he has changed the history in certain points in time using
Squealer on page 36 "The others said of Squaler that he could turn black to white." It would be wondered why such a pig would be needed on Napolean's behalf, if he is always right as Boxer says he is. It is because Napolean needs him to be able to keep the animals in line if he ever falters.

Old Major also talks about how they, themselves are not able to live the natural life span that they have the right to, and about how they must never turn on eachother when this happens. The natural life span, may mean that people during the wars were replaceable, because the lives were worth nothing, and once they were useless, they were killed. So like the animals, people were regarded as merely the working class. They eat, they sleep, they work,and they work; once one of those functions does not work anymore they are tossed away. They are good for one thing and once they are used for the purpose, they are disposed of, plain and simple. The next point, is that,
Major's skull was cleaned after he died, it was pciked clean. Perhaps this refers to the fact that the rules were easy and clean. They were rules which would be able to be mainted with almost no thought to them at all, to stick together.

Major also brings up a point of posperity, and how the animals must work with one another, and never against each other. So a better picture is received the quote that says "Never listen when they tell you that Man and the animals have a common interest, that the posperity of the one is the posperity of the others. It is all lies.
Man serves the interests of no creature except himself." which is found on page 30.This indicates that the posperity of the farm after the rebellion is to bethe prosperity of the farm and no one else's. Napolean, however, seems to make it seem like it is only his prosperity and none of the farms. Later in the book on page 136 it says "
"Gentlemen," concluded Mr. Pilkington, "gentlemen, I give you a toast: To the prosperity of Animal Farm!". This shows that Napoleon is only rewriting what Old Major says.
Napolean's ignorance is shown through the fact that he has to complete his own history so that he can even have a history that doesn't contradict him. So the prosperity in the end is shown as the prosperity of all, even though it was only of animal farm's.

So did Old Major's speech profoundly affect the farm?
Yes, it did, the farm changed in many ways, and then changed back. The speech was the one thing that kept the farm together, no matter what was going on. The speech

always gave hope to the animals no matter what the outlook was. The animal's found this to be their salvation in the hardest times. The Animals, however, found themselves at the lowest points inside the book.
When Boxer was in the meat grinder vehicle, even though before he could barely even pick up his head, he got up and kicked as hard as he could, he may not have gotton out but he used all of his strength. Also when all the animals came forward as to helping Snowball, they found their own courage, even though they kenw they would die, they were able to leave with dignity in themselves. So Old Major's speech was worth its weight in gold, but in the way it was used the gold weighed as much as a single piece of sand.
