On the job training or ojt is one way by which we students are given an opportunity to apply the theories and computations that we have learned from school. It also help us to obtain the applicable knowledge and skills by performing in actual work settings. Colleges and universities require their students to undergo such training within a specific number of hours as part of the curriculum. For us students, an OJT or internship program provides opportunities to go through the actual methodologies of a specific job using the real tools, equipments and documents. In effect, the work place becomes a development venue for us student trainee to learn more about our chosen field and practice what we have learn from academy. On other hand, a valuable OJT program also profits the companies who accept trainees. First OJT provides extra manpower for us less significant labor cost than a regular employee. Most of them are al eager to learn the ropes so chances are high that they will cooperate. We trainees can bring fresh ideas into the organization. Given the opportunity to converse our minds freely and without fear, we may be able to continue significantly in brainstorming sessions or research and eventually help to improve the organization productivity. While training the OJT, an employee are in fact also teach their employees to guide trainees by stretching their patience, develop teaching skills and make them more sensitive to the needs and teaches them how to share what they know and be receptive to question. Therefore, the OJT also becomes an avenue in training in training for the future managers of the company. Accepting on the job training can be truly be beneficial not only to trainees but also to the companies that provide opportunities for this type of learning. There is wisdom in the front lines. Such training can be investment that will be valuable to the company later on. This is also why us trainees should take our OJT seriously as it can become a powerful tool and possibly even a source of recommendation when they take the big lift from being students to career professionals. On the job training or OJT is one of the best training method for us student especially graduating to feel at the employee’s worksite. It will generally be the primary method used for broadening employee skills and increasing productivity. It is particularly appropriate for developing proficiency skills unique to an employee’s job. Especially jobs that are related to your course and easy to learn and require own equipments and facilities. It can give productive, and professionalism that will student need in the future and will normally be high in those organizations that employ an OJT program. An analysis of the major job requirements and related knowledge, skills and abilities form the basis for setting up and expertise to impart to the trainee. OJT is important and the quality of OJT can be considerably improved through effective design.

Elements of OJT
 Preparation - there is nothing worse than trying to demonstrate how use equipment where the OJT has forgotten the password that gives access to the computer programmer or the key to the equipment cupboard. Good preparation is essential, and the best OJT trainers have useful examples or practice exercises ready in advance.

 Start with the learner - begin by assessing how much the learner knows already. The most straightforward questions will elicit the answers and save time.

Advantages of Using OJT
 Training can be delivered at the optimum time. For example, immediately before a job is to be performed “ for real” in the workplace.

 The trainee will have the opportunities to practice immediately.

 The trainee will have immediate feedback.

 Training is delivered by colleagues and can go some way to integrate the trainee into the team.

Disadvantages of Using OJT
 There is tendency to fit OJT in when it is convenient for the office routine rather than at the optimum time for learning.

 Training may be given piecemeal and not properly planned, and the trainee gains a fragmented picture of the organization.

 Too much training can be delivered in one session leading to information overloads and trainee fatigue.

 The trainer may not have sufficient knowledge of the process or expertise in instructional techniques ( a “ train thee trainer” course may be appropriate).

 If immediate practice is not accompanied by feedback the trainee can feel abandoned after the initial experience.

We go to our office together with my classmate and friends Emmanuel Redondo and Jason Cabillan. I feel bored and mad when they come late and they don’t come in time. First we go to MS2 a computer shop near our school ACLC. This where we see and wait each other every morning before going to Philam Life.
On my first day of OJT, I was assigned to do a database at first It was not easy but as the the day passed I learned to do more and do it fast not like in my first time I am so slow but now I can do it in time. Then after that I was assigned to do a database about some documents in the building and some company profile.
Most of the time I encode, review, Xerox, answering phone calls, ascending files and do some database in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. But it so difficult to do a database where I only know more about Microsoft 2003 software but in our company they used Microsoft 2007 software. At first I don’t know much more about Microsoft 2007 but as the day passed I been learning it and the day past by I know it better but not all of it because it has many buttons and some of it I don’t know there uses. Most of the day I used Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. But when I don’t much to do I used internet because my boss allow me to used internet when I have a free time or when I’m done in my task or assigned work.
I learned being patience, being hard working, being concerned in your work or what you’re doing, being observer on what your boss, staff, and other employees in your company or department, being generous, being kind, and being kind in your boss, staff, other employees, costumers, and other people who went or pass in your company.
Being in the real world or the work job is not easy as 1, 2, 3 or a, b, c it’s hard to be in the real world. It’s like you have a 10 to 20 pieces of hollow blocks in your back because when I see my boss straggling with his boss because of they don’t get what they need and when its urgent when the board comes and they can’t present the documents and papers that they need. But they so smart that even though they don’t have the papers or the document they can present it in their own way. In my side I am thankful that I’m in this company where I have a kind generous box and staffs. I’m also thankful that I don’t have many things to do every day. I most enjoy when we finished our OJT task and we fulfill our goals in what our boss given task to us. I like it much when it is Friday, because it is our last day in OJT and we don’t have time to wake up early just to go to our OJT Company. Our OJT is from Monday to Friday only so we can stay sleeping in our bed late and we don’t have to worry about what our boss given task to us. Every Trainee must be focus to his or her work. They should listen carefully with the instructions of their boss. If they do not understand something, they should ask for help. You should be aggressive in order to learn. You should be the one who take the initiative that you want to learn. Deal with your problem with calmness, so that everything will turn alright. Trainees should always observe the proper attitude while working because your attitude will also affect the work of your co-employees. You should work with promptness and be confidence with your job. At the end of the job training period, the trainee experience many things and learned from it. He/she will gained knowledge about the work of a purchaser. They will learned how to use different machines like fax machine, Xerox machine, scanner shredder and most of all computer. It is important that they know how to use those kind of machines, because it is essential or important for their work. During that time, the trainee experienced how to deal with people around him/her, with his/her co-workers and especially his/her boss. It is important that one team should work as one so that they can work well and attain their goals. They can observed that it was different when they are in school and when they just learned theoretically in school while in the real world. They can actually experience the things that their trainers taught to them. Never give up once the trials that Gods given to you instead try to solve it not by yourself, but with the help of your friends and family. Also don’t lose hope on him and always thank him to what you have and what you are now and especially for your parents that they are there all the times when we need them and especially for your friends whose there to support you whether it is good or bad.
