Of A Dying Breed
Have you ever felt so disappointed that you become aggravated? Well, that’s exactly how I feel with music. I love it so much but the new age of mainstream music has just absolutely…aggravated me. I have been observing many different styles and genres of music, only to find out my theories are mostly correct. That many talented musicians will never make more than a fast-food worker. While more simplistic musicians seem to make bank. That the listener really does not understand what good music is. I also discovered that the few talented musicians out in the world make up for the rest of them.
The way I see it, people already look at music and laugh if asked if they believe musicians should make a lot of money. However, if the musician is talented, so talented that most listeners couldn’t possibly begin to comprehend how or what the musician is doing, they might be more up for saying that musicians do deserve their pay. Unfortunately, most talented musicians really do not make a lot of money because they refuse to sell out. The sell-out bands are what you hear on local stations. These people make bank for turning music into something bland, dry, bitter, and boring. I believe this happens because the listener does not truly understand talent all the time, just think about it. Any ordinary person can learn a song they hear on radio but I dare you to learn a technical metal song. The difference in talent is obvious and yet these talented musicians just make it day bye day.
Music has evolved so much over the last 50 years. It’s as though the talented musicians only become more and more. With every generation there is at least one that will be fortunate enough to rise above all obstacles, bite down all the pain and just accelerate and give the rest of the world hope to do something great.
