Oceanography

Oceanography is a form of science that experiments with the ocean in order to discover new things. It has many different aspects of it such as marine science and earth science that studies the ocean. Sea waves as well as the underwater animals are important to the technology in which is discovered. Oceanography has very deep history in the sense of some of its discoveries. Many things involve oceanography in the world that we use whether it be rain or atmosphere.
Humans have observed the oceans which are around us ever since we have been alive. The interest of what could be there that one couldn’t see with their eye has always intrigued the human civilization. The ideas of gathering food, walking through the waves, or simply coming to realize just what’s there have always been interesting. Starting with the creation of boats the navigation of the world and what was there that was uncharted became the most important thing for most countries to do. Crewman also conducted research on ocean findings and gathered data on information such as ice movements, water temperatures, winds, and ocean currents. It didn’t matter what it was everything was important to learn about the ocean.
The actual science of Oceanography began way back in the 19th century with the work of the United States Navy. The actual beginnings came from simple boat logs of what was being seen in the ocean. The H.M.S Challenger made the original voyage in which oceanography became world known due to the world tour the boat did. After over three years of research and many different obstacles the boat would finally port finished with its hard job in which it did a wonderful job and would set the standard for what was expected of an oceanographer at that time. All in all the history of oceanography is a very rich one.
