President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney come from two different backgrounds. Barack Hussein Obama was born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was raised by his mother for some time and grew up without his father. Years later, Barack lost his father to a fatal car accident in 1982. Due to several family issues, Barack was sent to live with his maternal grandparents in Honolulu. Barack went to church regularly with his grandparents and was raised a Christian. Barack was an academic scholar. “He enrolled in the Punahou Academy and graduated with honors in 1979” (BO Bio). Within the next two years in 1981, he enrolled in Occidental College. Two years later he then transferred to Columbia University and graduated in 1983 with a degree in political science. He soon entered Harvard Law School in 1988 and
graduated with a JD degree in law. He soon met Michelle Robinson while doing an internship at a law firm with Michelle being his advisor. The couple married in 1992 and later had 2 daughters.
