Nutrition and Fitness Paper
My current nutritional and fitness habits include the following. I try to go to the gym twice a week; regularly I try to go every Thursday and Friday. I try to do cardio more than working out. I do cardio for one hour and on Fridays I only work out for another hour; I only spend an hour each of those two days in the gym. For my nutritional habits, even dough I am not a vegetarian, I try to avoid red meat, but I try to eat as healthy as I can. I try to eat my meals that contain lean protein like some fish, egg whites, and salmon, I love salmon so I probably eat it like twice a week, since one of my jobs is in a restaurant I can choose whatever I want, I also eat a lot of fruits, like apple, pineapple and blueberries, these are basically the fruits that I eat in a daily basis. For my daily basis also, I try to eat healthy fats, like avocado, fish, almonds, and virgin olive oil. According to Medical News Today (2008) oils like extra-virgin olive oil, flax seed oil, and fats from plants sources can improve your cardiovascular health and fight weight gain and obesity. I also try to drink only water, obviously when I go out with my friends I drink alcoholic beverages or soft drinks, I can’t always avoid substances that have little or no nutritional value. There are times that I buy food in a fast food restaurant, but I am not a big fan of hamburgers and all that stuff, so I try to not go to any kind of fast food. Something that I think I might change is the way I eat my meals, sometimes I only eat two meals a day, and there are days when I don’t have breakfast, well almost every day I don’t take my breakfast.
