Eating according to the Food Guide Pyramid can help with Bulimia Nervosa as well as protect the body from hypertension and cancer. Exercise is also important to prevent hypertension and certain cancers. Outlined are my personal nutrition and exercise goals as well as an eating and exercise plan.
I have been diagnosed with bulimia nervosa so it is extremely important that I eat according to the food guide pyramid for my age group. Eating according to the food guide pyramid will help to keep me from bingeing and using diet pills to control my weight. Hypertension and heart disease run on my father’s side of the family. I do not have these conditions now but in order to ensure that I do not have future problems with these issues I need to eat according to the food guide pyramid. Cancer runs on my mother’s side of the family. Eating according to the food guide pyramid will help to ensure that my body gets the nutrients it needs to protect itself from cancer. Exercise is also important to weight management and hypertension as well as cancer. In order to fully protect myself I must exercise and eat according to the food guide pyramid.
Variety is the key to getting all of the nutrients the body needs. My diet lacks variety. I have the tendency to eat the same things day after day because of convience. During the week, I tend to eat pop tarts for breakfast, no lunch, and macaroni for supper; if I eat any supper. My body does not get the nutrients that it needs to be healthy. I do not eat grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy, or meats during the week. I eat better on the weekends but variety from these food groups is needed every day in order to have a good healthy diet.   Most of my food intake is fats and sweets that are high in calories but offer no nutrition for the body. I am desperately in need of a diet that is full of the foods and nutrients that my body needs. My body needs things like fiber, vitamins, minerals, whole grains, calcium, and protein.
