Nutrition is the total sum of the processes by which one acquires food, consumes/eat and the body uses the food for energy, maintenance and growth. It can also be defined as the process of nourishing or being nourished, especially the process by which a living organism assimilates food and uses it for growth and for replacement of tissues. Another definition says it is the science or study that deals with food and nourishment, especially in humans.
Good nutrition – an adequate, well balanced diet combined with regular physical activity – is a cornerstone of good health. Poor nutrition can lead to reduced immunity, increased susceptibility to disease, impaired physical and mental development, and reduced productivity. Malnutrition
Malnutrition is the condition that results from taking an unbalanced diet in which the quantity of food/energy or certain nutrients are lacking, in excess (too high an intake), or in wrong proportions.
