Nuclear Power

Nuclear power is the use of sustained nuclear fission to generate heat and electricity. Nuclear power is produced in two different ways. There are many advantages for nuclear power. There are also lots of disadvantages to nuclear power.q Nuclear energy is produced naturally and in man-made under human control. Nuclear energy is produced in two different ways. In one way large nuclei are split to release energy. In the other way small nuclei are combined to release energy. Nuclear power produces 11% of the world’s energy needs. Uranium is the most common element used to produce nuclear power. Nuclear power produces huge amounts of energy from small amounts of fuel. There are many advantages for nuclear power. Nuclear power cost about the same as coal, so it’s not expensive to make. It does not produce smoke or carbon dioxide so it doesn’t contribute to the greenhouse effect. Nuclear power produces enormous amounts of energy from very little fuel. The nuclear power plants are more reliable and safer. The cost is low because nuclear plants need only small amount of uranium to produce lots of energy. Nuclear waste can be safely stored underground. There are also many lots of disadvantages to nuclear power. The nuclear plants are more expensive to build and maintain. Nuclear power generates radiation that can be harmful or fatal to infected people. A nuclear meltdown can often occur which will release massive amounts of radiation into the community. The waste products are dangerous and need to be carefully stored for long periods of time. Nuclear waste dumps can spontaneously combust without any warning. The technology used for generating nuclear power can be used to produce nuclear weapons. Nuclear power is a important topic to know about. How it is produced is important. There a lot of advantages for nuclear power you need to know. There are many disadvantages you should for nuclear power to.
