Day 1

First day of our Community Service (Friday, February 11, 2011) began as me and my BSIT – 1R Classmates set off by a Public Utility Jeepney to Barangay Sta. Lucia, Novaliches, Quezon City. When we got there the Section BSIT – 1R, Mr. Arthur Dumanayos had already got there and we started to set it up the survey questionnaires for the residents of Barangay Sta. Lucia. We started exactly 8:00 A.M. in searching some respondents to our survey; Kara Ann Monique Blaza is my partner on that time, the residents welcomed us with a smile and they treat us very well, we explained to them the objectives of our program the Literacy Training Service, on that time we have run out of survey sheets, but some mothers wants to register their children to our program, because they said that they want their children to have a little knowledge in reading and writing before they bring their children in a real school, we accept it and they thank us and we thank them too, because of them our target 40 children completed. Our survey ended up 9:30 A.M.

Day 2

Second day of our Community Service, it was (Friday, February 18, 2011) we started to teach the children of Barangay Sta. Lucia, the children are stubborn but we manage them well, the other kids are with their parents, because they wanted to see how do we teach. In teaching those kids, we should need more patients, because some of them are naughty. In first day of their class in our Literacy Training Service, we give them a warm up first before we begin to teach them some academics, we do some storytelling, fun games, giving some freebies and prizes and we introduce ourselves to them. After those activities we provide some food for them, we fed them juice and cupcakes only because we are lack of budget or money to provide heavy meals. After that, some of my classmates delivered home those children who have no parents to pick them up.
