Nothing but a Let Down
Imagine letting your family down in the worst of ways, not just once but two times. Well, that’s exactly what I did to my family on Cinco de Mayo three years ago. The night was going so well. It was everything I had expected it to be. A night out with many of my best friends, it was filled with excitement and laughter, that is until it was time for the night to end.
The night was off to a great start. I made some phone calls and next thing you know we had a great night planned. So from that point I headed to a close friends house and that’s where my night began. We got the group of guys together and we were on our way. On our way in two separate cars, and of course one of the cars was piloted by me. From that point, the night seemed as if it were going to be unforgettable, and I assure you, unforgettable was exactly what it is.
We had the whole night planned. First, we were going to go to Hooters and have some good food with even better things to look at. So we were all there having a blast and two hours, and $200.00 bill later we were off to our next stop of the night. Little did I know, but this next stop wouldn’t be my last of the night. But I can assure you my last stop of the night wasn’t with the company that I imagined.
After Hooters, we headed north, which is in the direction home. But the night was still young so we couldn’t obviously end the night at that point, so we decided to stop at another favorite watering hole at the time called Parentes. Parentes was one stop that I will never forget for as long as I live. It was after a few hours at the bar, and I decided to tell my friends that I was going to leave and go to the casino. That was the biggest gamble I ever took. My friend’s all told me not to go to the casino, but I tended to be a little stubborn when I had some drinks in me.
So I pulled out of Parentes. I was on my way to the casino, and wouldn’t you know less than a mile down the road red and blue lights lit... [continues]
