Dear Students, TUITION FEES APPLICABLE TO STUDENTS ADMITTING TO NUS IN ACADEMIC YEAR (AY) 2011/2012
1. I am writing to inform you of the University’s tuition fees that will be applicable to undergraduate and graduate students to be admitted in AY2011/2012. 2. University tuition fees will continue to vary according to the student’s degree course and citizenship status. The tuition fees for Singaporeans of the AY2011/2012 admission cohort are marginally higher than for the preceding batch. In line with the Singapore Government’s policy directions, the fee differentials between Singapore Citizens (SC), Singapore Permanent Residents (SPR) and International Students (IS) are, however, more pronounced.

NUS will continue the practice of a cohort-based fee structure for undergraduate degrees that was first implemented in AY2008/2009. The annual tuition fee will thus be fixed for all undergraduates admitted in AY2011/2012 throughout their candidature. 4. Annex 1 lists the annual tuition fees for Singaporeans of the AY2011/2012 admission cohort. Annual tuition fees for most undergraduate courses will increase by 4%; this represents an annualized increase of 1.6% over 4 years. Fees for some of the specialized courses will increase by 6%, or 2.3% in annualized terms (over 4 years). 5. For the AY2011/2012 undergraduate admission cohort, SPRs in receipt of the tuition grant will pay between $770 and $2,180 more than the AY2010/2011 rates, and IS in receipt of the tuition grant will pay between $1,310 and $3,270 more than the AY2010/2011 rates. The cohort-based fee structure will continue to apply to all SPR and IS undergraduates. Annex 2 lists the annual tuition fees for SPRs and IS by degree course. The fee adjustments are part of the Singapore Government’s policy to draw a greater distinction between Singaporeans and... [continues]
