DK-1114 Copenhagen K Nordic Fashion Association was founded in 2008 by Helsinki Design Week, Icelandic Fashion Council, Oslo Fashion Week, Swedish Fashion Council and Danish Fashion Institute. NICE (Nordic Initiative Clean and Ethical) is a joint commitment from the Nordic fashion industry to take a lead on social and environmental issues. NICE was launched in 2009 as a project under the Nordic Fashion Association. This publication is a revision of the edition made in collaboration with Dansk Fashion & Textile and A Better Choice in 2009. The NICE Code of Conduct and Manual The NICE Code of Conduct and Manual strives for alignment with international standards and universal principles. For this reason, the Code and Manual have taken their inspiration from the UN Global Compact’s ten principles, but have sought to provide additional specificity from a sectoral perspective. Other sector specific content has thus been included with a view to promoting higher levels of sustainability performance on a wide range of topics relevant for the fashion and textile industry. The NICE Code of Conduct and Manual are an initiative of the Nordic Initiative Clean and Ethical (NICE), and were developed in close consultation with industry representatives and other relevant stakeholders. Input was also sought from the UN Global Compact Office, which has welcomed this effort...
