NHS Application Essay
JP Morgan, founder of General Electric the first billion dollar corporation in the world, once said, “Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you’ll be able to see farther.” This quote shows that no matter how far one needs to travel to accomplish their goals if they be the leader to their own life they will achieve it, and will establish new goals along the way. To get to where one hopes to be in life they must be able to consider themselves a scholar, leader, show good character, and be able to give your services to those who are in need of it. Throughout my life I consider myself all of those things and I am still on my way to reach the goals I set for myself.
Scholarship is defined as the academic study or achievement. Throughout my high school years I have achieved several academic awards such as the Academic Excellence Award, which I received in recognition for my outstanding academic excellence. I also received Honor Role freshmen, sophomore, and the first marking period of junior year. This means that I contained an A, or B average throughout the marking periods. During the fourth marking period of the 2012-2013 school year I was placed on the principle’s list. This means that I received all A’s in the fourth marking period. Freshmen and sophomore year I was in all honors classes and kept myself organized and on top of my homework and exams. In order to be a good scholar one has to be able to put in the work and go above and beyond the requirements. Junior year was the first year I choose to go above and beyond and am in two advanced proficient classes. I am in AP English III and also AP Psychology. These classes are comorbid with college level classes. In order to receive good grades in this class one has to want to learn and have no problem with doing the work. I am willing to do whatever it takes to be the best scholar I can be even if it means giving everything I have....
