New England, middle, and southern colonies
I was born in a country where basketball was not so popular. It was mostly for the rich people, because they were the ones that could afford paying lots of money to the coach, and the team to be able to play and learn the game. Since there wasn't too many basketball coaches in Iran, we didn't have many basketball teams for different age groups. Out of all of my friends I had in Iran for the 11 years I lived there, only one of them played basketball in a league. He wasn't even playing for his own age group either, he was playing 1 year up. He was really good of what I could remember, but I just thought that because I didn't know how to play. Has something like that happened to you ever when you see somebody doing something and you know nothing about it and think to yourself "WOW, he's really good", but it turns out they only know the basics!!! Now remember this, that only one of my friends played basketball, and he was really good; because we will get to this later on in the story.
In my family no one was interested in basketball at all, well my dad did follow the NBA scores from the sports news on TV like every other week. They never showed any NBA basketball games on TV, there was only a show that was on every Friday mornings at 5 o'clock IN THE MORNING! Since there wasn't many people interested in basketball in Iran, there are not many talented and very good basketball players from Iran. Either in the NBA, or the Iran's league itself.
Now I hated basketball also when I was in Iran. I couldn't even stand watching it for a few seconds when there was a game on the TV. And to be honest, I never held a basketball for my whole entire first 12 years of life! But I did shoot a soccer ball in the indoor facility where my dad's soccer team was practicing. I mean I actually didn't take a
Make up "Participation Points" (for 9/9/11) shot with my hands either! It was with my foot that I tried to put it into the basket. Of course I didn't make it, BUT at least I did play

I have been playing basketball basically my whole life, it is has shaped me into the person I am today. I started with just a ball and a hoop in my cousins front yard. I would just chuck the ball at hoop for fun, horsing around with my cousins. In elementary and middle school I would play with my friends at recess shooting around, dribbling in circles for the fun of it. I was even better then most of the boys who would play with my group on the courts. When I entered high school that was when I realized I was truly in love with the game. High school was where it was taken to a whole 'nother level. I was introduced to the real dynamics of the sport, it was where I learned that if I really want to do something that I love I had to put my all into it. I had to prove that I was one-hundred percent committed to the game. Practicing everyday for two hours, and…

Since I was 7 years old, basketball has played an integral part of my life. I have devoted countless hours to not just a sport, but a passion, an outlet; to the game that I love. When I arrived at Bow Middle School as a fifth grader, my classmates and I would always look up to the 7th and 8th grade middle school basketball teams. Every year during winter carnival, the boys and girls teams would play a game in front of the entire school. Playing in that game became a dream and a goal of mine, but first I would need to make the team. For three years I developed my basketball skills, using my passion for the sport and desire to play in that game as motivation. When tryouts for basketball in 8th grade drew near, I knew I was ready. However a new coach would be at the helm this year. Our new basketball coach was also a coach for the youth football program. This resulted in numerous football…

Ever since I was young I’ve always loved basketball. It started when I was young and I used to always watch my older brothers play in the park. I always wished I could play with them but they always said I was too young. Nevertheless, I was still persistent and practiced my game every day. All the time I was looking up to my favorite player Lebron James. I would watch his highlights on YouTube and try to mimic his moves exactly. If he did a through the leg step back I would go right outside and try it. Whatever team he went to that was always one team that I cheered for. When he joined the Miami Heat I knew I would fall in love with that team.…

The New England and Chesapeake colonies were both settled by English colonists. Most colonists moving from Great Britain to New England were families searching for religious salvation, rather than mostly the single men that traveled to the Chesapeake area in search of wealth. The immigrants of the Chesapeake area were greeted with a climate and soil that were perfect for cultivating tobacco, cotton, indigo, and rice. Those settling in New England could not rely on farming to support themselves because of the rocky soil in the north. While the majority of the Chesapeake colonists were not as cohesive due to the great distance from farms to these towns, New England had close-knit church events, meetings, and schools. Although, the New England and Chesapeake colonies were both settled by people at English origin, by 1700 the regions had evolved into two distinct societies because of motives, environment, and towns/communities.…

Basketball is a game I started very recently. In fact, I was hardly interested in it. The complexity of the game always made me feel like I’d never enjoy being a part of it. However, the game took me by surprise. A lot of my close friends were part of the team and they were so passionate about it. Very recently, in the beginning of 12th grade, my friends coerced me to attend practice. Waking up early morning and running to the gym was literally the worst part of my day.…

When Jamestown was originally settled, and when the Mayflower landed, the colonists who emerged from the ships had huge plans and tremendous goals for what would come of their own colony. However, although both settled regions were the new homes to a majority of the English, two separate societies formed. In New England, the colonists were religious extremists hoping to form a perfect society, while gold hunters with little or no desire to create a permanent home flocked to the Chesapeake region. The colonists in the north were more concerned with family values than those in the south, whose society suffered from a great lack of women and such a high death rate that family ties were hard to keep. As time went by, the development of slavery and indentured servitude started making an autocracy of rich cash crop farmers in the Chesapeake region, while in New England continued to have a majority of small farmers, along with some fishermen and shipbuilders. The differences between the colonists' goals, populous, and economy caused New England and the Chesapeake region to form completely separate societies.…

Back then the only thing I really wanted to do was run around, dribble a ball, and hang out with friends that did the same. Practices were all very basic, layups and dribbling drills, also there was some shooting and lots of running which is the same way i coach my 1st grade team today. When our season began, we went into the games just for fun. however, we started getting better and going into games with a NEVER LOSE attitude. And went through the season with 2 loses the first game and sadly the last witch was the championship. That night was the first night i ever cried over a game and honestly it was the last. Because crying never got me better practice…
