New Age Religions Module 1
There’s a question that I always asked myself. Why are there other religions? I don’t know about others, but living and experiencing the Christian faith and seeing how other people interact and live daily worshiping other idols and expressing their beliefs it’s just not clear to me why they do it? Many people probably ask, since God created this world, He is all powerful, why doesn’t He just do away with all other religions since most of them are going against and away from what we know as the way the truth and the light. There were a few excellent points that I thought answered some of the questions that I have. It refers to Romans 1:18 in this passage Paul gives concrete answers to some of these questions.
• He gives the impression that since the first time that humans walked on earth, there has been knowledge of God (as we see in Genesis) or at least obvious reasons to believe in Him, such as the things that He’s made which reveal his power and divine nature.
• He also declares that even thought people knew God they didn’t glorify Him or give Him thanks they responded to Him with pride.
• Claiming to be wise, they actually became fools (made foolish choices and developed foolish answered to fundamental questions).
• Instead of worshipping God in all His glory, they substituted other things such as images of all kinds, ideas of others, experiences, ect.
• The result was not only wrong thinking and wrong worship but also immorality.
Even tough it’s all over the bible why we should only trust and worship one god. I believe the reason that people are finding new religions is because we were given that freedom to participate and look for the actual answer ourselves. In 2 Peter 3:9 it reminds us that, God is patient and doesn’t want us to perish, but wants everyone to come to repentance. Our God is so graceful, he wants us to look, find him and realize that he is the one, the almighty, and our creator.
