A nation is a society united by a delusion about its ancestry and by common hatred of its neighbors. “ (William Ralph Inge) It is true that societies that have been integrated into bonds of unity have always enjoyed peace, stability, prosperity and permanence. And those torn by mutual disruptive tendencies among various sections of the society have always been short lived and become non- existent. Since the very objective of creating Pakistan willfully or ignorantly was pushed into oblivion, the elements that were against the idea of Pakistan were encouraged both at home and away and the pestilence of antinational sentiments, discomforting rebellions, nuisance about lingual differences, delusions about ideological issues has marred the progressive dreams of the people ever since the miraculous birth of Pakistan just because of its significantly enviable geo-strategic status and countless foes, both internal and external. Nations are culturally homogeneous groups of people, larger than a single tribe or community, which shares a common language, institutions, religion, and historical experience. The national integration is an urge in people to live together, and look to common bonding experiences that do not stifle progress and unity because of the differences in race, language, religion and geography. Although the 18th Amendment and the NFC award have endeavored to bring relief to Baluchistan, rectify its grievances but the core issues remain unsettled. The province is mired in utter poverty. In terms of literacy, higher education, technological development, healthcare, infrastructure development and industrialization, the province is far behind the rest of the country. The lack of development in Baluchistan has not only been due to government’s negligence, but also due to the lukewarm attitude of the tribal leaders. Balochi leaders propagate that lack of employment opportunities in Baluchistan is due to unjust policies of Punjabis and Sindhis, but on the other hand, they themselves do not want them to get employed so that they should always remain subservient to them. As a result these disgruntled balochis are falling prey to anti-state elements who want to disintegrate Pakistan. Ethnicity is eating away the foundations of Pakistan. More than a thousand people died last year in ethnic wars fueled by heavily armed supporter of Karachi’s main political parties. Ethnic rivalry exists between the mohajirs represented by MQM and Pathans; In short, Karachi is riven by complex ethnic and political fault lines. America has been violating our sovereignty and territorial integrity continually by drone attacks, May 2 operation in...
