First of all we would like to thank God Almighty for giving us the spirit, ability, strength, patience, knowledge and for His guidance to make this practicum successful. And also we would like to thank our loving parents, relatives and friends for their endless love, support, and guidance. Our Dean Conchita F. Espinueva and Faculty members of College of Hospitality Management and Tourism department. To our Practicum Coordinator Mr. Onell Guerra for teaching us a lot of things that will prepare us to the next stage of our lives. To Manila Grand Opera Hotel & Casino for letting us to accomplish our on the job training and experience the real face of work in their hotel that we can use for the near future.

On-the-job training (OJT) is one of the best training methods because it is planned, organized, and conducted at the employee's worksite. OJT will generally be the primary method used for broadening employee skills and increasing productivity. It is particularly appropriate for developing proficiency skills unique to an employee's job - especially jobs that are relatively easy to learn and require locally-owned equipment and facilities. OJT’s can bring fresh ideas into the organization, given the opportunity to speak their minds freely and without fear, they maybe able to contribute significantly in brainstorming sessions or research and eventually help improve the organizations productivity. To have a successful OJT program, supervisors need to assign a coach to each employee involved in OJT. It is the responsibility of the coach to plan training carefully and conduct it effectively. It is the responsibility of supervisors and managers to utilize available resources to train, qualify, and develop their employees. The Laguna State Polytechnic University San Pablo Campus give their College of Hospitality Management and Tourism students a privileged to experience how a real life could be working in hotel. As a graduating student of Diploma in Hotel Restaurant Management of Laguna State Polytechnic University- San Pablo City Campus, We have requirements to fulfill and one of this is our three hundred sixty hours of duty as an on-the-job trainee in a restaurant, inn, resort, or much better in hotel. I grab this opportunity to find out if this kind of training/job will be fit for me. If someday I will be a staff at Manila Grand Opera Hotel & Casino and of course to experience the real life in hotel not as an practicum but as an employee.
