Nanotechnology is not a new invention, it has been around since at least the fourth century.

1974 – The term Nanotechnology was introduced in a scientific paper by Professor Norio

1981 to 1986 – Eric Drexler began publishing papers and books that described
Nanotechnology as molecular manufacturing.
1980s – IBM invented several tools to manipulate atoms. 1985 – A group of scientists discovered fullerenes, named Buckyballs.
1989 – IBM took xenon atoms and put them into the shape of their logo.
1992 – Eric Drexler published “Nanosystems”, a technical work that outlined a way to
manufacture extremely high-performance machines from molecular carbon framework.
