Food safety
It is a mistake for someone to say nanomaterials are safe or dangerous. They r probably going to be somewhere in the middle, and it will depend on the specific. If nanomaterials components too much in food product, it is not safe. Coz It will release toxic; there are risks of adverse health effects via inhalation, ingestion or dermal contact. If not enough nanomaterials in food production, it will no effect. Safety of nanotechnology in food product is depending on the situation, on the type of nanomaterials used and how the nanomaterials are used. There is no government regulation that can guarantee the safety of these materials.
Regulations
* The attitude to regulation, labelling and approval of nanotechnology food product varies from country to country. However, nanoproduct are becoming widely available in market.
* Due to the going debate, many F & B companies no nano specific regulations, testing or labeling requirements. The lack of consistency in regulation, labeling, and approval of such products make it difficult for consumers to exercise choice in the use of the nano food product.
* In the uk n Europe, benefit and risks of nanotechnology r opwnly discussed and it is important to consider the issue of labeling. Where the term ‘ nano’ is used there should be a requirement that producers define how nanotechnology has been used in the development of food product and why this process enhance the quality of the product.
* Regulatory bodies have started dealing with the potential risks posed by nanomaterials. They anticipate that most application of nanotechnology in food to be considered for approval will be safe n beneficial to the consumers. [continues]
