POLS 105 SPRING   MID-TERM

Politics : Making common decision for a large group of people through the exercise of power by some members of the group over other members.

Political Science : to intellectual strugle in order to understant social events.

Political science : is a social science concerned with the theory and practice of politics and the description and analysis of political systems and political behavior.

Authority : is the right to use power.

Decision makers : they have to right to make decision.

Power : The ability of one person to cause another to do what he or she wants them to do.
( Without power you cannot empose your idea to others people.)

Ways of using power :
        Construction of incentives ; when we maket he alternative so unattractive
        that only one reasonable option remains.
        Coercion ; when we force a person to do something he or she did not want
        to do.
        Persuasion ; when we convince someone that is what she or he really
        wishes to do.

Kind of power :
        Manifest power ; based on an observable action by someone that cause
        other person to do what someone wants.
        Implicint power ; it is not an observable power.

What is state.? State is the political organization under a legal system in a particular territory which is independent sovereignty. (hegemony)
