There are many similarities and differences between the Na’vi Indians in Avatar and the Native American tribes in the United States. All of these cultures are very unique. They all have different types of weapons, beliefs, foods, music, and ideas. These Indian cultures are a big part of this country’s past and both of the Native Americans and Na’vi respected nature very much.
Earth has been a long for a very long time and has many different continents and many different cultures that live on those continents. The Na’vi tribe in the movie Avatar live on a planet that the writer James Cameron called, Pandora. Pandora is the fifth moon of the gas giant Polyphemus (both are figures in Greek mythology), which orbits the closest star to the sun, as James Cameron puts it. There are some similarities between Pandora and the United States back when it was just the Indians living on this planet. For example, in the movie you will see that Pandora is covered by trees and forest areas and wildlife. Much like how the United States was before we migrated over, before that, the Indians respected nature so the land was still covered by the trees and forest and wildlife. Also, The Na’vi had their land stolen from them like the Indians had their land stolen from them.
The Na’vi and Native Americans both had their land stolen from them by foreign settlers. The Na’vi was invaded by Americans for greed. The Americans were trying to get a fuel source from their planet and they weren’t going to let the Na’vi stop them. In our own world, the foreigners wanted gold and riches and land and they weren’t going to let the Native American Indians stop them, so they killed them or took them as slaves or just drove them off their land and told them to go somewhere else.
The Na’vi and Native Americans both respected nature and wildlife very much. The Na’vi did not like to kill anything unless they had to. That is also how the Native Americans were and what they believed it. They did...
