METHODOLOGY: Two visits were done to Istinye Park D&R on November 22nd and on December 20th.
FINDINGS AND COMMENTS:
To start with, the store has a noticeable sign from across the street. In both of my visits the store was in New Year decorations. But in the first visit I did not find the store attractive and inviting since the interior design was not as good as in the second time. In my second visit, which is closer to New Year, the store was decorated with gift boxes, Christmas trees inside which made the business more attractive and inviting for me. In addition to the decoration details I counted above, increased new year concept inside the store which are composing of Christmas colors (lively and warm), busier store with people in my second visit contributed me to find   the atmosphere more welcoming   compared to previous one. To see more people in the store made me want to go into store and take a look at the products in my second visit. But I was not acknowledged upon entering the store in either of these visits.
In both of my visits I was able to see and reach all of the merchandise. D&R in Istinye Park Shopping Centre is really big store which has sections composing of CDs, DVDs, Musical Instruments, Books, Electronic Games. Each section has their own shelves. And each self has an explanation of the category of the product it carries. As far as I experienced (I asked for a book and the sales assistant checked only the shelf to see the book and she said they do not have it after not being able to find it on the shelf, she did not check for any stock) they do not have stocks, they exhibit all the   merchandise on shelves. All of the products categorized very well in a great structure.   But the huge shelves with lots of books are not so easy to navigate when a customer especially looks for a book.
