My Writing Process

Every person has their own unique writing process that they use when they write a paper. A person has access to a plethora of techniques to write in their own way within many different types of environments. Graphic organizers, outlines, and free writing are just a few of the resources that writers have to utilize in their own process. Although every person uses their own techniques in the writing process, I use a multitude of unique writing techniques throughout my writing process.
The process I use throughout my writing has developed during the course of many years. I have added several steps in order to produce an extraordinary and well-written product. I believe well-written papers take time and effort to get to a more perfect product. I get all of my books, research, and notebook paper together so that I will be organized before I proceed. The first step I take toward planning my paper is to think about my topic and establish my audience and purpose. Then, I research for more information on my topic before I write on a piece of paper or touch my laptop so that I have a clear understanding as I plan my essay. I keep my thoughts clear and try to be open-minded at all times so that my paper can be as well-thought-out as possible. The process of thinking about my prompt allows me to ensure that I am responding to the question or prompt and it helps me create a clear focus on my essay’s topic. I also decide if there is an argument and a counter argument. I then begin a jot list that helps me create a written plan using my thoughts and putting them into short phrases and words. Finally, I begin to create a basic thesis statement that applies to the type of paper I am writing and I check that my thesis sums up what the essay will be focusing on.
Planning is the next step where I begin to transition into more writing. This step allows me to create a more

I used several methods and modes to develop my paper. First, I started out with a directed introduction and strong thesis statement, followed by an outline of three specific areas I would explore in the paper. I then took the time to carefully walk my reader through these three points and show how they built on one another. Finally, I concluded my paper by drawing all the elements together and summarizing my overarching message.…

I always learned in high school that an essay only consisted of an introduction, body, and conclusion. There was no room for creativity, subjunctive writing, or free-thinking. As my favorite YouTuber always says, “If you are doing what everyone else is doing, you are doing it wrong” (Neistat). Through writing various papers in this class, I have learned that my voice as a writer is not limited to the standard academic paper.…

My high school my writing process was very alike to the process my classmates would practice. I would get my ideas from my life experience or classmates. A tool that really help me organized my thoughts was the web organizer with all the ideas I would brainstorm. I would let out my thoughts and would try to organize them the best way possible following the outline that I was going to utilize. I would ask my teachers and sisters, who have much more experience to proofread my rough draft. A problem I saw in my writing was my usage of words and my punctuation. As following the writing process it extended the essay a week more but it was well done. Problems that I would approach with, was organizing my writing in a form to make it clear. My strengths were the ideas and the details I would use in my writing.…

Generally I research the topic of the paper then I make a diagram to list all the topics I need to cover after that I begin writing a rough draft to organize my thoughts. Once I have everything written out in the proper manner I go back and proofread to check for any errors. It is easier for me to do it in steps than it is to just write a paper without any research, organization, or proofreading. I want my…

Today I am going to discuss the steps I take to write a paragraph. Before I do anything, I make sure I have a quiet area to work in and a clear mind so my writing process begins smoothly. I sit in front of my laptop and begin writing what I would like to talk about, which is called discovering and brainstorming. Then after I have done that I start narrowing down what I want to write about such as: Topic sentence and supportive details. After this, I usually go on to compose a rough draft pretty quickly. By drafting what I have written, It allows me to take out the things that strike me as worth keeping or not. Then after I have done that I revise the draft by rearranging ideas and reshaping sentences to make clearer connections. Carefully after examining the paper to see that it contains any errors of grammar, spelling, or punctuation for the last time I write a final paper. In conclusion, the four stages of writing like discovering, drafting, revising, editing and proofreading has help me and guided me to write effectively.…

The five steps of the writing process are equally vital to the succession of any writing assignment, whether it is for work or school. The five stages include PREWRITING, PLANNING, DRAFTING, REVISING, and PROOFREADING. As our text (Arlov, 2014), explains, “Writing is not a single act, but a process composed of several steps,” (p. 3). Moreover, constructing a strong paper that is well-written (no matter how tedious it seems), requires efficaciously executing all five phases. It is crucial not to take shortcuts by eluding any step of the writing process.…

Writing, something that has never befriended me, will always be an obstacle in my life. For me, it’s difficult to just sit down at a table and write something interesting and creative. I try to do so every time I am assigned a essay, and sometimes it turns out to be successful, but most of the time it is unsuccessful. Every time I am given a written assignment, I go through the same routine: I sit at the table and stare at my computer with my fingers on the keyboard. I have noticed that I come up with a lot of ideas, but I focus mainly on how to structure them while writing. In three articles written by Anna Lomott, Marie Foley and Donald M. Murray, they all discuss different strategies on how to draft, structure and revise an essay. They all have taught me a better way on how to make my writing strategy more successful in college than it was before.…

This research assignment has been a quite challenging assignment for me. The overall writing process has been the most difficult. Coming up with a draft was the first step in my writing process. I kept writing and every time I would go back, changes were made. I revised many paragraphs and run on sentences. In the beginning, I began to procrastinate because I did not even want to think about such a complex seeming assignment. After my meeting with Professor Klein, she gave me a lot of good feedback and ideas on how to start strongly. After my meeting, I started my essay on a better track and got a few pages complete. After the peer review session in-class, I learned a lot from my peers. My classmates thankfully gave me appropriate, last minute feedback. After this, I went back and fixed any grammar or formatting issues I had, along with adding more to my final essay. This process was long and not at all easy, but I was able to get it done efficiently.…
