As I jumped off the cliff, there was a cracking sound beneath my dripping wet feet. I landed with a thud on the forest floor which was carpeted with autumn leaves. Suddenly, I sensed that there was someone following me. Out of the blue, a shadowy figure appeared right beside me. It was totally unexpected and when I tried to catch a glimpse of it; it started running away, as if trying as hard as it could to hide from me. I was puzzled and intrigued…. My heart beat like a giant water pump. I had to follow it, I felt compelled to. It lead me to a dense, foggy wood. All of a sudden, there was a strong smell, at first it was sweet, but then it undertook the scent of flesh and mud. My stomach churned at the stench. The mist was everywhere. It was as if I was running amongst a field of poisonous clouds. Everything looked so full of life and so sweet, but the eyes of every insect and bird were filled with dread. It terrified me. I couldn’t see a thing. Far below, a misty gel rained down into a seemingly bottomless pit and disappeared. There was nothingness as far as the eye could see. Newly dried autumn leaves were scattered around the nightmarish pit. For some reason at that moment, I remembered my dad. It seemed like just moments ago, I was holding his delicate, caring hand, and now he’s nowhere to be found. We used to enjoy our evenings and mornings together. Going for a walk was the finest thing we ever did. Everything was wonderful. Now it’s all dark and gloomy since that horrid day. That was the last time we ever went for a walk together. It was horrifying. We went for our walk as usual although we were tired and not really in the mood to do it, but going for a walk every morning was our favorite past-time, so we didn’t want to neglect it. We used to pass that part of woods every day, but on that day it looked a little different than it usually did. We were talking about our relatives and friends when we realized we were standing...
