The most memorable moments are those that are shared with the closest friends and family. Some of my favorite memories that shaped my life were those with my father. Whether he would be helping me with shooting skills for my basketball team, getting a Jamba Juice smoothie every Sunday after church, or watching the Lakers game on the flat screen T.V., we were always sharing a special moment. My father and I, the only males in the family, would always stick together whenever my family would travel or while my mother and sisters would always be shopping, their favorite hobby. He was my biggest role model. My father’s number one goal was for his kids and wife to be happy. He would always be helping others out and I would always tag along to see if I could one day fill his steps. When I was only 13 years old, I attained my first job with him remodeling many houses. He showed me what responsibility and maturity was at a young age and created the person I am today. However, on March 2, 2011, my father suffered a terrifying stroke that has left him in a fragile condition for the rest of his life. After this occurred, I was not the same person, that person that took life for granted, ever again. It was just another Wednesday, waking up at six in the morning to a loud beeping alarm, hopping in the warm shower to wake me up, and leaving for the school an hour early just to make it on time due to the hectic rush hour on the highway. Wednesdays were my longest school days due to having back-to-back three-hour labs, plus a recitation class. I would always look forward to looking at my phone with the screen reading 1:45 P.M., meaning that class was over for the lengthy school day. However, on March 2 it was different. I got out of my chemistry recitation class early and waited for the public bus to take me back to my car.
