Reading Experience
Reading is a natural habit that most people will learn in life. Everybody learns differently though. Some may be faster than others, and some may be slower. In this essay, I will talk about the experiences I went through about reading.

I got better in English by practicing at school and by hanging out with friends who spoke English. Eventually, I spoke so much English that I forgot how to speak Tagalog.
Picture books were a favorite of mine though. I can remember when my parents would buy me and my sisters children’s books, but we would not know how to read them. We would just open the book and look at the pictures inside of them. There was a time when we looked through the book, we started to make up our own stories just by the pictures we saw from it. Eventually, my parents would read them to us before we went to sleep.
As I got older, I started to leave the reading behind. I found that playing with friends and doing things that I considered as “fun” was more important to me. When high school came around, it wasn’t very “fun” anymore. I would not be able to read any of the assignments that were assigned to us. This was due to lack of practice. I did end up passing my senior year with a ‘B’ in English with the help of my teacher.
Reading and comprehending has always been an obstacle during my school years. I just never found it interesting. Reading books does not excite me in any way, but I know that this skill is very important in life. I believe that... [continues]
