My Academic Experience the Past Nine Weeks

The long term results and value of completing a degree in higher education are many folded and range from financial to cultural. It is true that those of us who complete a degree benefit from higher paying jobs, but also can be said that we gain more acclaim and esteem among our peers as well. It seems that when you are educated and people are able to tell that you are educated you are treated differently than if you don’t have an education. You are able to network more and are privy to inside information concerning jobs, opportunities or anything that can result in social and financial gains. When attend college you gain knowledge on an array of subjects because you deal with such a diverse and culturally vast environment.

I feel that I will be able to use the tools and assessments in this course to help me in other courses and career plans because I have a better understanding of what makes me the person I am and also what makes me tick. For example, I am better able to manage my time and reduce my stress level because I have incorporated a monthly planner in my life to map out my days effectively. I have scheduled time for every aspect of my life. Without my planner I would not know how to function in a day. The fact that I use a planner reduces stress because I know what it is that I am supposed to be doing at any time of the day. I also set short term goals to get these things done while working toward my long term goals. The short term goals go hand-in-hand with planning my day because when I plan my day I set milestones for me to accomplish within each day. By the time I am finished at the end of the year I will have finished a long term goal as well, really a couple of long term goals for the year. Study time is no longer an issue for me now because that too has been scheduled and planned for. I am a much more effective student because I now know my personal style of learning which has helped me
