My Inspiration
“Our greatest glory is in never falling but in rising every time we fall” .When she was 19 months old, a terrible fever left her blind and deaf. She also did not know how to speak when she was a child. Her disability did not stop her from achieving her goals. She overcame many obstacles and learned to speak and write, graduated from Radcliffe College, met with seven United States presidents. This courageous and determined person is “Helen Keller”, my inspiration. "The purpose of my life is not to be happy but to matter, to be productive, to be useful, and to have it make some difference that you have lived at all”. Word I would use to describe myself is “ambitious.” I am a determined and stubborn person .When I was in 6th grade my grandfather about Helen Keller. She was disabled yet she made many achievements that seemed impossible for her. I learned the lesson of acting with goals and never giving up from her. The first achievement I made was I got 3rd position in final exams in 6th grade. In grade 7, I participated in sports competition and got 3rd prize in "three legs race" and i also received a certificate for participating actively as a teacher in "one day government for students". In 8th grade, I got 2nd prize in debate competition in my native language which is "Urdu”. In 10th grade, I won 3rd prize in project of "Trigonometric Ratios" in "Science Exhibition”. All these years I am maintaining 90% marks and received a GPA of 3.56 last semesters as my goal is to become a dermatologist. . Usually a person needs 4 years of pre-med, 4 years of medical degree and four additional years residency to become a dermatologist. IAU College of medicine at Dallas Texas in affiliation with Texas A&M University Commerce is offering 6 year medical program so that students will complete their degree in 6 years instead of 8 years.
