My Family Vacation

This year my family took two vacations. The first was to North Carolina and the other to Vermont. Both family vacations were exciting and fun but for different reasons. We begin packing for our trip to North Carolina days in advance. Luggage is limited to what we can carry since there are four of us going in one car. We load up the car the night before we leave. We wake up early in the morning and get ready to leave so we can be there by night. The drive down is beautiful. We pass through New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Washington DC. We try to make as little stops as possible. We pack some snacks and drinks so the only time we really need to stop is for gas and bathroom breaks. After a long twelve hour ride we finally get to our hotel. The first night we just relax in our hotel. We watch some television, order in some food, and then go to bed early so we are prepared for the next day. We wake up early in the morning and start our morning at the waffle house. The food there is amazing. It helps that it is reasonably priced too. After we ate we went on some paddle boats, which was really fun even though we found out that there are alligators in the water. Then we went to a place called the Serpenterium. This place has crocodiles, alligators, snakes, anacondas and many more different reptiles. If you are there for two pm they let you watch the staff feed the reptiles. We were able to watch the anaconda eat a rabbit. It was kind of gross and cool at the same time. We also went to a place called jungle rapids where we went go kart racing, played video games, and went on the water rides. We had a great time. Our trip was loaded with new adventures. Then we had our trip to Vermont. This trip was so different from North Carolina. The weather was colder. The snow was so pretty on the trees. There were not as many activities.
