My experience through this website when I did some of the exercises showed me my weaknesses. I found a lot of exercises, for example, scrambled sentences in a simple present, present perfect, reported speech, and many more. Some of them were easy to me, but when I did some of the reported speech I found that they were a little bit hard to me. When I finished my exercises, I look around the website and I found something very interesting to me, I found that this page has a section called Business English. This section helped me a lot because I am taking Principles of Accounting I, my first basic class.
One more thing that caught my attention was the person who made this website, a Chinese man called Ron Chang Lee. He taught English in China before earning a master’s in ESL and a PhD in educational technology at the University of Illinois. He started an ESL site as a class project in 1994 and kept adding topics and conversations. Also, he is one of the pioneers in the U.S. in utilizing online resources to assist English language teaching. Now he is running two popular ESL websites one of them is www.rong-chang.com, and the other one is www.eslfast.com. His current interest is researching how to help ESL students learn English through the Internet.
The experience with this website was amazing to me because I learned that I need to work hard in my weaknesses, and I also learned that people like Ron Chang want to help people like us to improve our second language. We need to approach sites like these website to reinforce that we are learning at school.
